There are many reasons people may choose to try the ketogenic diet or keto diet. This diet focuses on lots of protein and fat – while minimizing carbohydrates. This puts the body into a state called ketosis, which maximizes fat burning.
I’m not looking to teach anyone about the keto diet or go into too many details on why you may want to do it – that is up to each individual.
What I am looking to do is to help people try and stick to the keto diet even if they have one or many food allergies.
I have many many food allergies, and I’m great at coming up with substitutions and ideas on what to eat.
The keto guidelines are nothing I can’t handle with my experience.
So if you’re looking to follow the keto diet with a food allergy, you’ve come to the right place!
Keto Diet With Food Allergies
We’re going to dive into what you can eat with food restrictions on keto, as well as meal plans and ideas on what to eat. I also try to stick to lower carb products in general, and spacing carbs out throughout the day instead of eating one pancake with 20 carbs in it and being done for the day.
Here’s what we’ll cover
- Keto Without Egg
- Keto Without Almond (or any other nuts)
- Keto Without dairy
- Gluten free keto
- Keto Without Seafood (psst, everything will be keto without seafood)
- Keto without eggs, nuts, seafood and dairy (don’t worry, we got this)
When we talk about keto without something, I’ll give you basic guidelines for what you can eat instead. I will also give you ideas on what to eat – both things you can cook, as well as pre-packaged convenience foods. While I have spent many, many hours reading labels, please remember one of the cardinal rules of food allergies.
Be sure to check back frequently for updates, because there is a lot to cover here!
Always read the label! Manufactures change things all the time! Always contact the manufacturer if you have any questions.
Have another food restriction or food allergy I missed? Let me know and I am happy to investigate things for you!
